Networked Cities

1. NCLm maps of the urban areas; created using that area’s twitter activity over the period of one week.
2. NCLn network; looking at social connections within these spatial based datasets.
3. NCLa animations; bringing together aspects of the research, maps and social connections observed.
The animated video is based on the geo-located tweets collected from the researched urban areas with high social density. Animation developed in collaboration with Anders Johansson and
DigitalUrban. The data was collected using CASA’s Tweet-O-Meter tool, coded by Steven Gray.
He has worked as an urban designer and architect in England and Switzerland, and taught at the University of Plymouth and as a tutor at the Bartlett on the MA Urban Design course. He us currently a PhD researcher at the Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis (CASA) at UCL and collaborates with many institutions in Switzerland, Germany and the UK on his projects and practice.
He is also the author of the freshly published book ‘Temporal Urban’, 2011, Springer, and the blog
