Alpha-ville Director Joins Selector Panel for New Multimedia Photography Festival
Alpha-ville’s Director Carmen Salas has been invited to judge existing works as part of the Night Contact Festival open submission process. Night Contact is the new London multimedia and photography festival taking place on Friday 27th September in Dalston, East London. The panel is formed by leading professionals from the field of photography, film and new media including:

Athens Video Art Festival Call for Entries
Our friends from the Athens Video Art Festival are now calling for entries for the 2013 festival edition.
Athens Video Art Festival invites all contemporary artists to find inspiration in the urban environment and the inexhaustible potential of new media, experimenting and freeing themselves from all stereotypes. Proposals can be submitted by post or online, closing date is 10 April 2013.

Summer Sessions 2013 Call for Artists
Summer Sessions Talent Development Network
The Summer Sessions are short-term residencies for young artists organised by a network of cultural organizations all over the world including Baltan Laboratories, iMAL, V2_ Chronus Art Center and Dundee Contemporary Arts.
The duration of a residency is roughly 8 weeks in the period between June 1st and September 30th. As an artists you can apply by submitting a video, in which you briefly explain your project, the support you need and why you should be a part of the Summer Sessions before the deadline. MASSIVE THANK YOU to everyone who came along and took part on the events on Saturday 6th October, it was an overwhelming response after months of preparation.
The ALPHA-VILLE SCREENING DOUBLE BILL took place at Hackney Picturehouse and featured an eclectic selection of moving image works. The Future of Moving Image Award 2012 winners were revealed by London Short Film Festival director Philip Ilson:

Alpha-ville presents a full day celebrating the richness of the digital culture in Hackney on Saturday 6th October 2012. Head over to Hackney Central/London Fields area to discover the day, use the journey planner to get travel information. If you make it early enough we recommend that you visit the lovely local market Broadway Market.

Alpha-ville would not be possible with the dedication and enthusiasm of it’s volunteers. We are currently seeking enthusiastic and hard-working volunteers to help us deliver our October events. Volunteering with Alpha-ville is a fun and rewarding way to gain insight into running events and a great way to network and gain industry contacts.
We are looking for volunteers for the following roles:

Bombay Sapphire Imagination Series: Short Film Competition in association with Shooting People
Shooting People are supporting Bombay Sapphire and Tribeca Film Festival’s worldwide Imagination Series competition, which will give five filmmakers the chance to make their own short film using a script written by Oscar-winner Geoffrey Fletcher (Precious). The script is stripped of all direction so the idea is to use your imagination and transform his story into anything you want.
